Job Description

Job Summary

Caregivax is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient/resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The CNA assists patients with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, nutrition, safety and other assigned care activities.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with bathing, grooming and personal hygiene.
Assist with dressing and undressing.
Provide toileting and incontinence care.
Assist patients with meals and feeding when necessary.
Measure and document vital signs.
Assist with ambulation and mobility.
Transfer patients between beds, wheelchairs and chairs.
Turn and reposition patients according to the care plan.
Help prevent pressure injuries through appropriate repositioning and skin care.
Measure and document intake/output when assigned.
Make beds and change linens.
Maintain clean and safe patient areas.
Answer call lights promptly.
Observe patients for changes in physical or behavioral condition.
Report abnormal findings to the nurse.
Assist nurses with delegated patient-care activities.
Follow fall-prevention and patient-safety protocols.
Follow infection-prevention procedures and PPE requirements.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Document care accurately and promptly.
Provide respectful, compassionate care.

These duties align with the core nursing-assistant functions described by BLS.

Qualifications

Current CNA certification/registry status as required by the state and assignment.
Completion of an approved nursing-assistant training program where required.
CPR/BLS certification when required by employer.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare staff.
Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility.
Basic knowledge of infection prevention and patient safety.
Prior healthcare experience preferred but not necessarily required.
